Glitter Shoes
Glitter shoes are any shoe (Mostly heels) that are coated with material that makes it glitter. Not considered mainstream, these footwear are considered quite niche. In that respect, it is the polar opposite of nude shoes. Some might say glitter shoes are simply too overwhelming to be used on most occasions and they would be right. They are definitely not for casual wear. Rather, they are at home when it comes to clubs or a night when you’re partying with the girlfriends.
Glitter shoes are also not what you’d call elegant. For that reason, they are some of the worst choices when it comes to formal events. They are also a very polarizing type of women’s footwear with many women adoring it while others will never consider wearing them. They are not the easiest to match with the wardrobe and can sometimes come off as tacky if you’re not careful. If you are not sure how to match them, always go with black outfits for the safest mix.
While they are available in many common colors including black, red, purple and even pink, there are some colors that are easier to match than others. Chief among them is silver glitter shoes. Within the metallic family of colors, silver is by far the most popular mainly because they are quite easy to match with an assortment of colors. You can go for contrast and match with darker shades like black, brown and navy blue or you can match with equally bright colors like ivory and cream.
There are numerous styles to choose from these days but the vast majority of them tend to be heels. That is not to say you cannot find a great pair of glitter flats or boots but most popular variants on the market are almost always high heels for good reason. You generally want to accompany such a striking color with something feminine for the clubs as it is quite redundant in regular footwear like ballerina pumps. For that reason, stick to the regular high heels like court shoes, pumps, platform heels and bootie heels. Glitter shoes are definitely not for everyone and not for every occasion but can be put to good use for specific types of events.
